The Indianapolis 500 is one of the oldest and most popular races today! Many people flock from various locations from around the world in order to see the race in person. However, many people have arrived and found that there is a lot more to do than meets the eye! If you will be traveling to the Indianapolis 500 with your children, you will be pleased to find many activities that will make them happy. One of the most popular attractions for children visiting the Indianapolis 500 is the arcade and plaza that is at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Children can enjoy playing a variety of racing oriented video games, participating in various types of activities like driving their own remote control vehicle, and having their faces painted.

If you enjoy music, you will be pleased to find an assortment of music and other types of entertainment that is offered at the Indianapolis 500. Many big name entertainment artists have performed at the Indianapolis 500. Many local performers provide concerts as well. You can view the concerts at the stage that is provided at the Indianapolis 500. Many people love to come and see who will be performing at the Indianapolis 500. In addition to the fun of listening to the many concerts that are usually occurring at the Indianapolis 500, you will be pleased to find that they do not cost you anything!

For the Indianapolis 500 fan that enjoys history and racing, you can enjoy a wealth of racing history at the museum that is located at the speedway. The admission for the museum is $3.00 and less, depending on if you are an adult or child. You can see a visual history of racings finest moments by taking a tour of this museum. You will be able to see historic racing cars, various photos, hear amazing stories of racing history, and even view a movie regarding the history of racing, and more! This museum is appropriate for people of all ages! This makes a great field trip activity for school age children.

If you would like to get up close and personal to where the famous racers frequent, you can! There are a variety of speedway tours that you can take in order to get close to where the cars go. On one of the tours, you can actually take a lap around the actual speedway. It is permitted to take pictures and record a video of your experience on a speedway tour. The tours cost as very little, but will bring a lifetime memory and joy that you will not experience anywhere else!
